Questions

Dive Crew is a dive group's map of the world's dive sites, and the place dive groups plan their trips. Here's what's open to everyone and what an account adds.

Accounts

›Do I need an account to look around?
No. The dive site map, every site's forecast, season and marine life, and where to dive this month are open to everyone.
›So what does an account add?
It puts you in a dive group. With your group you plan trips (who's going, and the dates most people can make), keep a log book, read members' reports on how a site was, share posts and photos, and send private messages. You can also add a dive site the map is missing.
›What does it cost?
Nothing — not for divers, not for clubs, and not for the dive centres who list here.
›Do I need an invite code or a club first?
No. Make an account, then start a club of your own or join one with the code its admin gives you. If someone shares a trip in your group chat, its “Count me in” button signs you up and adds you to that club in one go.
›What is my email used for?
A link to confirm it's yours when you sign up, then only ever a password reset if you ask for one. It is never shown to anyone.

Dive groups and trips

›Who can see what my group posts?
Only your group's members. A public dive site page shows how many dives were logged there, never whose, and a shared trip link shows the trip, never the names of the people going.
›Do we have to leave WhatsApp or Telegram?
No. Keep chatting where you do; trip links are made to be pasted there, with a preview card showing where, when and how many are going.
›Can I be in more than one group?
Yes. Join as many as you like and switch between them; each one sees only its own trips, posts and people.
›I'm not in Singapore — is it any use?
The dive sites are worldwide and trip planning works anywhere. Travel times and “how long to go for” are worked out from Singapore, where the site started.

The map and dive centres

›Where do the dive sites come from?
OpenStreetMap, named reefs from Wikidata, and sites our members have added. Each is placed in the water where the boat goes, not on the beach.
›A site is missing or in the wrong place.
Members can add a site straight from the map, so make a free account and put it where it belongs.
›I run a dive centre.
Claim your listing for free: a verified page, your boats on the sites they go to, and quote requests from clubs planning trips near you. See Dive Crew for dive centres, or add your centre if it isn't on the map.
